The National Park Kalkalpen with the Reichraminger Hintergebirge and the Sengsengebirge is one of the largest closed forest areas in Austria – a forest that has not yet been cut down by public traffic routes and settlements. It provides protected habitats and habitats for endangered animals and plants. 4/5 of the national park area is covered with forest.
